What are Neuromodulators?

The injection of neuromodulators is used to prevent as well as a correct the look of moderate to severe lines in the face. It is one of the most popular nonsurgical aesthetic procedures. They target wrinkles like forehead lines, frown lines and crows feet that are caused by muscular contractions like as frowning and squinting.

The injectable treatment works to relax facial muscles and prevent muscle contraction. The restriction of these movements results in younger, rejuvenated looking skin.

Neuromodulators have been used for over 40 years with no reported long-term side effects.

What to Expect From a Neuromodulator Treatment

Neuromodulator injections require no downtime. It is a fairly quick, relatively painless treatment. A consultation will be completed with our Nurse and signed off by our medical director. The area(s) to be treated will be cleansed and landmarked to ensure a precision injection technique. A very small amount of the product is then injected into the muscle.

What Are The Benefits?

Treatments are quick and easy with some patients starting to see results within 24 hours of treatment. Final results will appear by 2 weeks post-treatment. The restriction of the muscle movement causes less oil production and smoother, younger looking skin. Neuromodulators can also treat other areas and conditions such as hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), TMJ and can slim the contour of the face. Feel more confident with a refreshed appearance that can last up to four months!

Who is A Candidate for Neuromodulator Injections

There are very few reasons why a person should not have this treatment. A complete consultation will be completed to discuss medications and medical history to ensure there are no contraindications. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin type A, or have a neuromuscular disorder, the treatment cannot be performed.

Pre-Treatment

Before your neuromodulator treatment, you should:

  • To help prevent bruising at the injections sites you should avoid any medications or herbal supplements that increase risk of bleeding.

Post-Treatment

After your neuromodulator treatment, you should:

  • Do not lie down for 4-6 hours.
  • Avoid rubbing the treated area. This can lead to the product diffusing into muscles/areas we do not want treated.
  • Avoid exercise for 24 hours.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Embarrassing and unwanted perspiration can be controlled with the treatment of the underarms using a neuromodulator. Treatment may be covered by private insurance. Our medical director will complete all forms necessary.
